Area Sales Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Area Sales Manager based in United States.

The Area Sales Manager will serve as a key field representative, building strong partnerships with automotive dealerships across an assigned territory.
This role is focused on expanding market share by developing existing accounts and identifying new dealership opportunities.
You will educate dealers on lending programs, helping them understand how to maximize available financing solutions for their businesses.
Success will depend on your ability to build trusted relationships, generate new business, and increase program adoption.
You will work closely with operational teams and management to capture quality business and achieve territory objectives.
The position offers a highly autonomous, customer-focused environment where initiative, communication, and commercial judgment are essential.
Extensive field travel provides the opportunity to make a direct impact across a dynamic and growing automotive finance market.

Accountabilities
  • Educate automotive dealers on all aspects of available lending programs and advise them on how to maximize their value within individual dealerships.
  • Partner with operational teams to capture quality business from existing dealers and increase utilization of lending programs.
  • Expand the assigned territory by researching opportunities, developing prospects, and signing new dealership partners.
  • Conduct regular dealership visits, cold calls, and inbound conversations to build relationships, generate business, and strengthen market presence.
  • Maintain strong dealer satisfaction and retention through responsive service, relationship management, and consistent follow-through.
  • Complete and submit required documentation to track performance, evaluate established goals, and support business planning.
  • Collaborate with associates and management to achieve business objectives and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Participate in special projects and take on additional assignments based on organizational priorities and management direction.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in auto finance, including experience with sub-prime auto financing.
  • At least 3 years of sales experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the local automotive market and an established network of customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to identify needs, recommend improvements, implement solutions, and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence others, manage conflict, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and build effective cross-functional partnerships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable team player who can perform effectively in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.
  • Proficiency with computers, internet-based tools, Microsoft Office, and standard business applications, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to demonstrating strong professional values, accountability, and collaborative behaviors.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to communicate accurately through speaking and hearing, maintain close visual acuity for computer-based and analytical tasks, and operate effectively from a home office.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including approximately 75% travel by vehicle and air, with overnight stays and extended working hours as required.
