Assist the Director of TR to manage compensation and benefits programs that align with organizational goalsandthatare competitive within the market.
Administer employee benefit plans, including health insurance, retirement plans,vacation and sick time,housing benefits,leave(short-term and long-term disability, FMLA),and wellness programs.
Assist the Director of TR to educate employees on available benefits options, support the enrollment processes and conduct benefits orientations and training sessions for new hires and current employees.
Ensureaccurateentry,updatingand integrity of employee data withinthe HRIS and physical employeefilesas necessary. Ensure the confidentiality and security of employee information including compensation andbenefitdata.
Oversee the maintenance of the HRIS platform.
Coordinate with insurance providers to resolve issues and improve services. Ensureaccurateinvoicingforservices.
Serve as a point of contact for benefits inquiries and issues, providing guidance and support to employees around benefits,policiesand procedures (including responses through help ticketing system).
Review payroll data (including timesheets), maintain payroll records including wages, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings; reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies; process new hires, terminations, and pay changes; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws in order to provide bi-weekly accurate entries for the payroll clerk for processing.
Benefits Administration: manage enrollment, changes, and terminations for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefit plans; serve as the primary point of contact for staff benefits questions; reconcile benefits invoices against enrollment and resolve billing discrepancies; maintain compliance with ACA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations.
Assist the Director of TR with coordinating open enrollment communications and processing.
Compliance and Recordkeeping: maintain accurate, confidential employee payroll and benefits files; support internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits; stay current on relevant employment law changes affecting payroll and benefits administration; prepare and file required reports (e.g., 401(k) filings, ACA reporting) in coordination with finance and benefits vendors.
Employee Support: respond promptly and professionally to staff questions about pay, deductions, and benefits; provide clear, accurate guidance during onboarding and life-event benefit changes; partner with the Team Resourcing team on process improvements that reduce errors and improve the staff experience.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy handling sensitive financial data;
Solid working knowledge of payroll tax regulations and benefits compliance (ACA, COBRA, FMLA)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS/payroll software
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines.
Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: 2-4 years of payroll and/or benefits administration experience strongly preferred; experience with a payroll system (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paylocity) preferred.

Evaluation:
The Benefits and HRIS Specialist will meet regularly with the Director of Team Resourcing for planning, goal setting, progress updates, and general coaching. A formal Action and Development Plan will be completed and reviewed three times throughout the year.
