Job Description
The Janitor performs cleaning and custodial services at PHD Services client sites to maintain clean, sanitary, and presentable facilities. This role works independently or as part of a crew, often during scheduled shifts that may occur before, during, or after normal business hours at the client site.
Typical job duties include:
1. Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and common areas according to client and company standards.
2. Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces.
3. Empty trash and recycling and dispose of waste per site procedures.
4. Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and sanitizer in designated areas.
5. Operate cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor machines, etc.) safely and properly.
6. Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety data sheets (SDS).
7. Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the supervisor.
8. Follow all client specific site rules, access/badge procedures, and security protocols.
9. Maintain accurate time records and complete required documentation (e.g., cleaning logs, checklists).
10. Communicate professionally with crew members, supervisors, and client representatives.
Requirements:1. Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required; training provided.
2. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively independently or as part of a team.
3. Reliable attendance and punctuality, including the ability to work scheduled shift times, which may include evenings or early mornings.
4. Ability to pass any site-specific background check or badging requirement required by the client.
5. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods throughout a shift.
6. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
7. Ability to push/pull cleaning supplies and carts.
8. Ability to safely climb ladders or step stools as needed.
9. Ability to work in varying indoor environments, including exposure to cleaning chemicals.
