Job Description

Overview
An Attorney is a licensed legal professional responsible for advising clients, representing them in legal matters, and advocating on their behalf in negotiations, hearings, and court proceedings. Attorneys analyze legal issues, develop case strategies, draft and review legal documents, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and ethical standards. Their role combines legal expertise, strategic judgment, and client advocacy to protect rights and achieve desired outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
  • Conduct legal research and develop strategies for complex family law issues
  • Communicate regularly with clients and provide legal guidance
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in contested and uncontested matters
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure timely case progression
  • Maintain accurate billing, timekeeping, and case documentation
  • Stay current on family law statutes, case law, and procedural rules
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Idaho
  • 1–3+ years of family law or litigation experience preferred
  • Courtroom and litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Professionalism, empathy, and strong client‑management skills

Skills
  • Proficiency with legal practice management software (Clio preferred, but not required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize efficiently
  • Commitment to high‑quality legal representation and ethical practice
