About the role
The Director of Professional Education will lead the strategy, development, and execution of physician and therapist education programs that accelerate adoption of Vivistim® Paired VNS™ Therapy. Reporting to the Senior Director of HCP Marketing, this highly visible leadership role will be responsible for shaping the professional education vision, conference strategy, and key opinion leader (KOL) engagement model that supports commercial growth and market expansion.
This role sits within the Marketing organization and partners closely with Sales, Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Commercial Operations to ensure educational initiatives deliver meaningful customer engagement and measurable business impact. The successful candidate will lead a growing portfolio of professional education programs, conference activities, faculty development initiatives, and consultant engagement efforts while managing a Professional Education Principal responsible for program execution and logistics.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute Mobia Medical's professional education strategy across physicians, therapists, administrators, and multidisciplinary stroke care teams.
- Design and scale a comprehensive education portfolio that includes peer-to-peer programs, speaker programs, virtual education, therapist training initiatives, regional events, and national summits.
- Lead the annual conference and society engagement strategy, ensuring investments align with commercial objectives, clinical evidence generation, account development goals, and long-term market expansion plans.
- Direct conference planning and execution across national, regional, and specialty society meetings, including sponsorship strategy, faculty engagement, scientific visibility, exhibit presence, and measurement of business impact.
- Establish a long-term conference framework with clear objectives, target audiences, success metrics, and return-on-investment measures.
- Develop and manage relationships with key opinion leaders, faculty members, and external clinical experts to strengthen Mobia Medical's leadership position in stroke rehabilitation and neurorecovery.
- Build and lead a structured faculty development program, including speaker identification, onboarding, training, utilization planning, performance assessment, and succession planning.
- Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Clinical, Sales, and Commercial Leadership teams to ensure educational programming reflects evolving clinical evidence, market needs, and strategic priorities.
- Create scalable systems, processes, and operational frameworks that support growth while maintaining a high-quality educational experience.
- Ensure all educational and conference activities comply with applicable regulatory, compliance, and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 8+ years of experience in healthcare, medical device, professional education, physician marketing, medical affairs, or commercial leadership roles.
- 3+ years of experience leading teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven experience developing, launching, and scaling physician education programs.
- Demonstrated success building new programs, processes, and organizational capabilities from the ground up.
- Experience managing consultant networks, faculty programs, or key opinion leader engagement initiatives.
- Strong project management, organizational, and operational leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Experience supporting conference strategy and execution within the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Experience partnering closely with commercial teams to drive physician adoption and customer engagement.
- Knowledge of stroke rehabilitation, neurorecovery, neuromodulation, or other neuroscience-focused therapeutic areas.
- Experience working within a high-growth or emerging medical technology company.
- Proven ability to translate educational investments into measurable commercial outcomes.
