Job Description
At Cuningham, we design environments that shape how people feel, engage, and connect. Our work in hospitality and gaming is rooted in creating thoughtful, high-quality experiences that balance bold creativity with technical precision. Through collaboration and a deep respect for guest experience, we bring spaces to life from the first sketch to the final detail.
We are seeking an Architectural Designer to join our Las Vegas team and contribute to hospitality and gaming projects across all phases of design and delivery. This role is ideal for a designer who brings curiosity and craft to every challenge, and who is eager to grow within a collaborative, design-driven team. Hospitality experience is required, though our work spans multiple markets and you'll have the opportunity to contribute across a diverse range of project types.
Candidates will be considered for Architectural Designer I or II based on qualifications and experience.
The Architectural Designer I (non-exempt) will assist in developing design solutions, documentation, and technical coordination under the guidance of project leaders. The Architectural Designer II (exempt) will independently move small to medium portions of project scope forward with minimal supervision, while collaborating closely with project leaders, consultants, and clients — taking ownership of quality within their assigned focus area.
Experience in the hospitality and gaming market sector is required, with demonstrated project involvement on resort, hotel, and/or casino project types.
Develop design solutions across all project phases — from schematic design through construction documents — using sketching, 2D/3D modeling, and computational methods
Prepare and participate in client design presentations
Document projects through both creative design and technical detailing
Coordinate BIM models and documentation internally and with consultants and contractors
Participate in construction administration, including on-site observations and verifications
Research exterior materials, wall assemblies, waterproofing, and vertical circulation systems
Support exterior massing studies, site studies, and interior space planning in collaboration with ID
Apply regenerative approaches to design, considering the built, social, and natural environments
Collaborate with related disciplines for best design outcomes
Architectural Designer II also: leads code review participation, coordinates with the Specifications team, and takes accountability for quality in an assigned project focus area.
2–4 years of professional architectural experience, with hospitality project exposure required
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
Strong design sensibility paired with a solid technical foundation
Experience with Revit/BIM 360, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office; familiarity with Rhino, Enscape, or Lumion a plus
Collaborative mindset with clear communication skills across disciplines
Curiosity, ambition, and a genuine care for the craft of architecture
Openness to working across multiple market types beyond hospitality
