SUMMARY

The Company is currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team at our Newport News Facility in Newport News, VA.

As a HRBP this individual is responsible for a broad range of activities to support the wider organization. This is a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, which requires an individual who can maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while meeting the needs of employees and managers. As a HRBP, this individual will work with the Senior Director, Human Resources to provide full HR lifecycle support to non-union managers and employees.

This role partners closely with leaders to support workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, employee engagement, performance management, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a strategic Human Resources Business Partner, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Partner with leadership to identify, develop, and implement innovative HR solutions, best practices, and process improvements.
  • Maintain a visible and regular presence with leaders, managers, supervisors, and employees at the Newport News facility.
  • Collaborate with site and functional leadership to address human resources and business challenges effectively.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and coordinate with the Senior Director, Human Resources and Legal to determine appropriate resolutions.
  • Support the development and execution of employee and organizational development programs and engagement initiatives.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent by leveraging talent acquisition processes for internal recruitment and targeted external sourcing for critical competencies.
  • Design and support location‑specific retention strategies, development efforts, and knowledge‑transfer initiatives as business needs require.
  • Partner with HR colleagues and business leaders to assess, develop, and facilitate training programs on HR and workplace topics.
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain HR metrics to support informed decision‑making.
  • Support all HR programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, employee relations, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, recognition and engagement, records management, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Design, implement, and manage employee recognition programs to support employee engagement and organizational culture.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company standards; regularly review and recommend updates to policies and practices as needed.
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for special projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed, recognizing that responsibilities may evolve based on business requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • At least 2 years of human resources experience.
  • Experience supporting operations or manufacturing environments preferred.
