Manager, Media Planning

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Media Planning based in the United States.

As a Manager, Media Planning, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for creating strategic, data-driven media plans that support revenue growth and maximize advertising performance across a diverse media portfolio. This role combines people leadership, operational excellence, and strategic planning in a fast-paced and evolving advertising environment. You will collaborate closely with sales, yield management, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative media solutions aligned with client objectives. Accountabilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of media planners and senior planners, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the creation of strategic, data-driven media plans that align with client goals, inventory strategies, pricing frameworks, and revenue objectives.
  • Partner closely with sales teams, yield management, and internal stakeholders to develop competitive, high-impact advertising proposals.
  • Drive consistency, quality, and efficiency across planning processes, tools, workflows, and team deliverables.
  • Support organizational transformation initiatives, including changes in products, inventory, systems, and planning methodologies.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to establish priorities, monitor performance, and execute business objectives effectively.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects such as product launches, system enhancements, pricing analysis, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Resolve operational challenges, provide planning expertise, and ensure timely delivery of client-focused solutions.
  • Analyze team performance and maintain adherence to established policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Promote a customer-centric approach while supporting a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience may also be considered.
  • 5–7 years of experience in media planning, advertising, media sales, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing performance within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of media planning principles, inventory management, pricing strategies, and advertising ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to develop data-driven recommendations and translate business objectives into actionable media strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage competing deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with sales, operations, analytics, and leadership teams.
  • High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to operate independently when making decisions.
