About the Role:
As a Server based in Pittsburgh, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service. Your primary objective is to ensure customer satisfaction by accurately taking orders, serving food and beverages, and addressing any guest needs or concerns promptly. You will collaborate closely with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate timely and accurate order delivery, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. This role requires a strong focus on communication and multitasking to manage multiple tables and guests simultaneously while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and positive word-of-mouth for our establishment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role within the food and beverage industry.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of local cuisine and beverage offerings.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and order management software.
- Certification in food safety or alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe).
- Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat guests in a courteous and timely manner, providing menus and answering initial questions.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are communicated to the kitchen.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
- Handle guest payments and process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including setting and clearing tables.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth and efficient service flow.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to provide a safe dining environment.
