Role:
The Treasury Management Specialist is responsible for generating deposit growth and increasing fee income through a consultative approach to selling Treasury Management products and solutions to Gulf Winds Credit Union Business members. This includes both new and existing business members and will require the individual to work closely with their assigned Commercial Lenders and branch staff to consult on sales opportunities and provide the product expertise and consultation necessary to deliver the best possible solution to the client.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a pro-active approach to managing and identifying Treasury Management opportunity leads within the existing portfolio for expansion and retention efforts, and in working with commercial lenders regarding their targeted prospects for business development efforts.
  • Collaborate with partner departments and systems providers to implement and oversee efficient sales and operational workflows including member onboarding, training, and daily member service support.
  • Develops and executes a strategy for generating new deposits and fee income to meet annual goals and sales activity.
  • Performs various activities in support of the sales function, including (but not limited to) calling on members in-person, conducting periodic relationship reviews (in-person or via phone), preparing all necessary sales presentations and pricing pro-formas. Prepares and participates in responses to Requests for Proposal’s (RFP’s) coordinating with product and commercial lenders as necessary.
  • Collaborates and maintains communication with Commercial Lenders and internal partners to stay current on customer relationships and provide seamless service.
  • Conducts on-going training and education sessions for all member facing CU staff. This could include product presentations, consultative selling discussions and client success stories. Coordinates and gathers all documents required for tracking and documentation purposes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. Regular reliable attendance.

2. Uses good judgement in establishing and maintaining working relationships, solve problems, and produce accurate outcomes with limited supervision.

3. Ability to effectively work both autonomously and collaboratively, manage time effectively, and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlines and goals.

4. Ability to work in a goal-oriented environment to achieve goals and objectives focused on loan volume, credit quality, fee income, and referral of other Credit Union products and services.

5. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Treasury Management products to educate existing and prospective Business Members on the features, benefits and value propositions related to each service

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills: Exceptional member service skills Problem Solving and decision-making skills Good judgement; adheres to timelines and schedules Shows initiative in development and completion of projects Consultative selling skills Excellent written and verbal skills Ability to work independently and as the subject matter expert Knowledge of commercial banking Ability to analyze financial information Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Physical Requirements: Light or low amount of physical exertion; frequent travel by car will generally be required as transporting sales materials to events/meetings.

Work Environment: The position is based in-office in our Pensacola, FL market, operates primarily in an office setting, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. This position requires consistent presence in the office to effectively collaborate with team members and fulfill job responsibilities. It requires the ability to actively participate in conference calls and meetings with other Credit Union team members and vendors. The normal expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. Occasional after-hours work or travel may be required to meet project deadlines or attend training.
