Compressor Valve Technician in Houston, Texas at Samco Enterprises, Inc.

Samco Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an experienced Compressor Valve Technician to support the disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, and testing of reciprocating compressor components in a fast-paced aftermarket repair and manufacturing environment.

This position requires hands-on experience with compressor valves, packing cases, pistons, rods, and related compressor components. Candidates must be mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble:

-Compressor valves

-Pressure and wiper packing cases

-Pistons and rod assemblies

-Other reciprocating compressor components

• Perform “as found” inspections and condition reports
• Complete final inspection and quality documentation
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
• Measure and verify dimensions and tolerances using:

-Micrometers

-Vernier calipers

-Height gauges

-Depth gauges

• Operate shop equipment including:

-Lapping machines

-Bead blasters

-Valve testing equipment

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
• Follow company quality and safety procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience building and repairing compressor valves and packing cases
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Knowledge of reciprocating compressor components and repair procedures
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Requirements

• Prior experience with compressor valves and packing cases is preferred
• Must be able to read precision measuring tools and blueprints
• Must be dependable, motivated, and quality-focused
