Job Description
Job Purpose
Analyze specifications, lay out material, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools.
Job Details:
- This is a first shift position, and the hours are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- Starting pay for this position is $14.40/hour
- All positions are safety sensitive. A safety sensitive position is any position designated in writing by an employer, in which a person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana may constitute a threat to health or safety.
Qualified candidates will be asked to submit to drug testing.
Finish Trailers Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assembles prefabricated parts to build metal and wood truck trailers, following blueprints, performing any combination of following tasks: Lays out, fits, drills, screws, bolts, and rivets together metal sheeting, upright frames, bottom and top bars, and angle clips, using pneumatic and hydraulic hand tools and machines, and templates.
- Assembles and fastens together preassembled trailer side and top sections to trailer frame.
- Assembles and bolts undercarriage in position and mounts tires on wheels.
- Screws holding brackets in place and strings wiring for lighting system.
- Applies sealant to assembled sections.
- Operate table saw to cut parts needed for trailer and other departments.
- Sandblasting.
- Painting.
- Perform other duties, assignments and responsibilities as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environment.
- Be able to bend at waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary to move equipment around in the department.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
