Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Responsibilities
- Apply systems engineering processes including requirements analysis, architecture design, interface definition, and verification and validation (V&V) in support of this C2 Navy network program.
- Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using RHEL/RHV, OpenShift, or other related container orchestration technologies.
- Implement and support DevSecOps pipelines, including CI/CD tooling, automated testing, static analysis, and security scanning within classified environments.
- Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, interface control documents (ICDs), and system integration specifications.
- Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure including routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, and network security controls in support of system integration and test activities.
- Identify and lead work to provide hands-on technical solutions to problems and opportunities such as adapting to new environments, hardware or software restructure, accommodating new constraints, infrastructure or architecture improvements, improved work processes.
- Coordinate with government customers and stakeholders to capture, decompose, and trace requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
- Author and review technical documentation including system version descriptions, installation instructions, system administrator guides, release test plans, and test reports.
- Develop content for and participate in technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, Test, Deployment) and support configuration and change management.
- Identify technical risks, propose mitigations, and communicate status to program leadership.
- Work with the government program office, government lead systems engineering organization, and other stakeholders to scope and prioritize the backlog of open fixes and improvements including Progeny-owned work and software that will be delivered to Progeny to integrate
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of OpenShift and container-based deployment methodologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
- Demonstrated experience with DevSecOps practices including CI/CD pipeline implementation (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins) and security tooling integration (SAST, DAST, container scanning).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, routing protocols, firewalls, VPN, and network security architecture.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering best practices and frameworks (e.g., MBSE principles, DoD acquisition lifecycle).
- Active DoD Secret security clearance required at time of hire (US citizenship required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to author high-quality technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Navy or undersea warfare programs, especially software or networked systems.
- Familiarity with DoD RMF (Risk Management Framework) and A&A/ATO processes.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler or Rhapsody.
- Red Hat OpenShift certification (e.g., EX280), equivalent Kubernetes certification (CKA/CKAD), or other container/cloud certifications.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
- Knowledge of classified network enclaves (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, JCDX) and cross-domain solutions.
- Familiarity with US Navy ASW TTP and US Navy tactical data links
- Awareness of emerging subsea seabed warfare technologies

Combined Salary Range
USD $142,696.00 - USD $158,303.00 /Yr.
