JOB TITLE: Maintenance Worker
DEPARTMENT: Properties/Maintenance
SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Properties/Maintenance Manager
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
JOB STATUS: Full time; Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Mon-Fri (8am-4pm)
Summary:
Perform maintenance, repair, and property upkeep for agency buildings, vehicles, and grounds. Responsible for responding to complex building and vehicle issues, completing preventive maintenance, supporting safety compliance, and maintaining lawns, landscaping, and snow removal needs while working independently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain agency vehicles in safe and operable condition, including monthly inspections, repairs, transport to vendors, responding to operation concerns, and oil changes on non-diesel vehicles.
- Maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds in safe and operable condition through quarterly inspections, weekly preventive maintenance, general repairs, and snow and ice removal.
- Plan, supervise, and evaluate lawn and landscaping for all company properties.
- Assist Division Directors with maintenance needs as required.
- Follow all health and safety rules, identify hazardous conditions, and help maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and penalties.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and grounds/snow removal equipment.
- Ability to respond to complex building problems and initiate corrective action with minimal direction.
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Constant visual motor skills, manual skills, walking, bending, and standing.
- Occasional sitting, climbing steps, and lifting/carrying 50 to 90 pounds.
- Indoor and outdoor work with constant attention to safety.
Certifications & Training Requirements:
- Maintain current certification in lock-out/tag-out and arc flash.
- Maintain knowledge and safe use of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Comply with all applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
