Sr. Applications Programmer

This role serves as a senior technical lead responsible for supporting and evolving enterprise applications across critical business domains such as finance, accounting, logistics, personnel, and contracts. You will act as a sustainment subject matter expert, ensuring applications remain stable, efficient, and aligned with operational needs throughout their lifecycle. The position combines deep technical programming expertise with functional understanding of complex business systems. You will design, develop, and enhance software solutions while translating business requirements into scalable technical implementations. Working within a collaborative and structured environment, you will also guide other developers and contribute to system modernization and process automation initiatives. This is a highly impactful role focused on sustaining mission-critical systems and improving their long-term performance and reliability.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide expert-level support for sustainment lifecycle management activities across programs and project operations.
  • Analyze functional business applications and technical design specifications across domains including finance, accounting, logistics, manpower, personnel, and contracts.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and refine software solutions to meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Translate detailed system designs into executable code, including development of logic flow diagrams and software architecture components.
  • Enhance existing applications to improve performance, reduce processing time, and increase system efficiency.
  • Develop required technical documentation, including system-level and end-user documentation.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to development teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and problem-solving approaches considering system constraints and operational requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field with 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong expertise in sustainment lifecycle management for enterprise programs and project operations.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs supporting low-code/no-code development platforms.
  • Proficiency in BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) tools and process modeling techniques.
  • Experience developing automation solutions using low-code/no-code platforms and workflow-based systems.
  • Background in agile and hybrid software development environments.
  • Strong application programming experience with large-scale database management systems and complex software systems.
  • Ability to design and implement software solutions aligned with system constraints and performance objectives.
  • Relevant technical certification from a recognized authority.
  • Active IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive clearance or Tier 3 (T3) clearance required at time of submission.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and accurately.
