About the role

Education Management Solutions (EMS) is seeking a Lead Installation Technician to oversee the deployment of SIMULATIONiQ audio-visual and information technology solutions at customer sites. As the on-site technical leader, you will be responsible for guiding installation teams, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently, and delivering high-quality solutions that exceed customer expectations.

What you'll do

  • Lead the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of audio-visual, IT, and simulation technology solutions at customer locations.
  • Serve as the primary on-site representative for EMS, collaborating with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor installation technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and project standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AV systems, networking, control systems, and integrated technology solutions.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineering, Client Support, and Operations teams to meet project schedules, deliverables, and customer expectations.
  • Manage inventory, equipment tracking, shipping and receiving activities, and RMA processes to support project execution.
  • Conduct system testing, quality assurance reviews, and client acceptance activities to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the United States and internationally as required.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience installing audio-visual systems in commercial and/or residential environments.
  • Prior leadership or management experience.
  • Background in information technology, networking, and systems integration.
  • InfoComm CTS certification required.
  • Ability to obtain InfoComm CTS-I certification within 12 months of employment.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with Crestron control systems.
  • Working knowledge of BIAMP programming and audio DSP systems.
  • Proficiency in low-voltage cabling, termination, cable management, and AV/IT systems integration.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Windows Server environments, networking, and enterprise technologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, technical schematics, architectural drawings, and system design documentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting AV, networking, and integrated technology solutions.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%, including international travel.
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required clearances for work on government and secure client sites.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
