Schedule: 1PM-10PM MNL, but it might change to a graveyard shift
This is a full-time role responsible for ensuring the quality and usability of products across web, mobile, and API platforms. The position requires a mix of exploratory testing, automated test development, and collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Support teams.
What does a day in the life as a Software QA Tester (Automation Testing) look like?
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression test suites.
- Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and API testing across products and services.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers during requirement refinement, sprint planning, and release validation.
- Contribute to automated testing initiatives and help improve overall test coverage.
- Validate software behavior across multiple browsers, devices, and environments.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts related to product quality and release processes.
- Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
What are the required qualifications for a Software QA Tester (Automation Testing)?
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or quality engineering.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycles, and release processes.
- Experience testing modern web applications, APIs, and integrated systems.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and automated regression testing concepts.
- Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Postman, browser developer tools, and SQL.
- Understanding of HTTP requests, REST APIs, and client/server application behavior.
- Ability to investigate issues, reproduce bugs, and clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in an Agile development environment.
- Curiosity, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to improving product quality.
Preferred skills:
- Experience with automated UI testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Experience validating payment flows, transactional systems, or third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment environments.
