Penndel Mental Health Center has immediate openings for Family Based Workers and Family Based Professionals

Opportunity to be a member of a dynamic team providing individual, parental and family therapy to at risk youth. Use creative ways to engage young people and their family members to address complex family-systems issues with the goal of promoting family stability and mitigating the young person’s risk for out of home placement. The treatment team uses the Eco Systemic Structural Family Therapy model and receives formal training in the model.

Group supervision for licensure offered as well as use of agency vehicle.

General description/ Qualifications:

Provide team-delivered case management and therapeutic services as described in duties/responsibilities.

Must have Master’s degree in a field of human services plus experience working in the Children’s Mental Health system.

Duties/Responsibilities:

-Treatment services, which are videotaped include, but is not limited to: individual and family therapy, sibling therapy, play therapy, parenting skills, behavior management techniques, coping skill building, crisis stabilization, improvement of family relationships, encouraging psychosocial competence in the home, school, and/or community, adjusting parenting approaches to the needs of the child, monitoring treatment goals, inclusion of all family members in the treatment of identified client, collaboratively develop and modify treatment plan goals, objectives, and outcomes with the family and other involved child-serving systems.

-Case management activities including, but not limited to: facilitating community integration, needs assessment and planning, service linkage and coordination, information and referral, transportation, education and training, advocacy on behalf of the family, assisting in relief services (in-home and out-of-home respite, recreation, day care), assessing and meeting FSS needs. Adhering to documentation requirements, facilitating interagency meetings, and discharge planning and coordination.

-Serve a maximum of eight families, with a minimum of two hours face-to-face contact per week, of which at least 60% must be team-delivered

-Be available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week for crisis stabilization and clinical support on an alternating basis with his/her teammate, and notify families of such policy.

-Participate in supervision for at least 3 hours per week with coordinator of program

-Attend all PMHC required trainings as well as clinical and didactic trainings

-Complies with all policies and procedures of Penndel Mental Health Center

-Participates in agency wide Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives

-Will adhere to Corporate Compliance Plan and review annually

-Demonstrates a caring, respectful, responsive and professional manner in all dealings

-Performs other duties as required/assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending. Lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, talking and hearing on a regular basis to preform the job requirements as well as the ability to move quickly in a crisis situation.
