This Director, FP&A role sits at the core of a high-growth energy storage business, translating complex operational, commercial, and market dynamics into actionable financial insights.
You will lead enterprise-level planning, forecasting, and long-range modeling across a portfolio of utility-scale battery storage assets.
The role bridges finance, strategy, and operations, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into performance, capital allocation, and investment decisions.
You will work closely with development, commercial, and operations teams to build robust financial models that support both project-level and corporate strategy.
A key focus of the role is driving FP&A transformation, including implementation of planning systems and data infrastructure.
The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with significant exposure to executive and board-level decision-making.
This is a hands-on leadership role where financial rigor directly shapes business growth and capital deployment.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead end-to-end financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, long-range planning, and monthly forecasting across a complex portfolio of battery storage assets and operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance sophisticated financial models capturing full lifecycle economics of energy storage projects, including development, construction, operations, tax equity, and project finance structures.
  • Produce timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting for executive leadership and the board, ensuring clear articulation of performance drivers and financial narratives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including operations, development, and commercial groups to build project and corporate-level models that support investment decisions and strategic planning.
  • Drive strategic finance initiatives such as capital planning, scenario analysis, valuation modeling, benchmarking, and portfolio optimization.
  • Lead FP&A systems implementation and optimization efforts, including evaluation, configuration, UAT, and deployment of planning tools and reporting platforms.
  • Oversee data integration across ERP, CRM, and operational systems, ensuring financial data accuracy, scalability, and governance across platforms.
  • Establish and maintain financial planning standards, controls, and reporting frameworks to support scalable growth and improved decision-making.
  • Present financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
Requirements:
  • 7–10+ years of progressive corporate finance experience, with deep expertise in FP&A and strategic financial planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred.
  • Strong experience in financial modeling, including capital budgeting, project finance, and long-range planning in complex business environments.
  • Proven track record leading FP&A transformation initiatives, including implementation of EPM/CPM tools such as Anaplan, Planful, Adaptive, or Oracle EPBCS.
  • Hands-on experience with data tools such as Power BI, including building backend models and integrating enterprise data sources (ERP, CRM, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of energy sector dynamics, with experience in renewables, battery storage, or infrastructure strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with tax equity structures, project finance, and asset-level economics is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver high-impact projects from concept through execution.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to C-suite and board-level audiences.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a strong bias for execution.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and financial analysis, with sound judgment in their application.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary of approximately $175,000 with eligibility for up to 25% annual bonus based on performance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with 6% employer match.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Monthly cell phone stipend.
  • Generous paid time off including 20 vacation days, 5 sick days, and 9 paid holidays.
  • Remote-first role within the continental United States, with occasional travel as needed.
  • Opportunity to lead FP&A transformation in a rapidly growing clean energy infrastructure business.
  • High exposure to executive leadership and strategic decision-making in a dynamic industry.
