Job Description

Director, Strategy & Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Strategy & Operations based in the United States.

This is a foundational leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling the Strategy & Operations function from the ground up within a high-growth, mission-driven environment.
You will be the first hire in this function, tasked with defining how operational excellence is built, measured, and continuously improved across the organization.
The role combines strategic problem-solving with hands-on execution, ensuring that recommendations translate into durable operational change.
You will partner closely with CX leadership, clinical teams, and cross-functional executives to identify scaling bottlenecks and design solutions that improve efficiency and outcomes.
A strong emphasis is placed on building analytical frameworks, driving cross-functional initiatives, and improving how complex workflows operate at scale.
This position offers significant visibility, ownership, and the opportunity to directly shape how the organization evolves as it grows.

Accountabilities:
  • Own end-to-end strategy and operations initiatives, from problem definition through implementation, measurement, and long-term adoption.
  • Partner with functional leaders to diagnose operational challenges and co-develop scalable solutions, including workflow redesign with clinical and CX teams.
  • Build and institutionalize analytical frameworks to measure performance, replacing intuition-based decision-making with data-driven insights.
  • Lead high-impact workstreams focused on operational efficiency, AI integration, and identification of upstream drivers of customer experience volume.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that do not sit within a single department, ensuring accountability and execution across teams.
  • Conduct organizational diagnostics to identify scaling gaps and prioritize the most critical operational improvements.
  • Establish foundational processes, tools, and best practices that will define the future Strategy & Operations function.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in strategy, operations, consulting, BizOps, or high-growth startup operating roles where you have built or scaled complex functions.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, build models or frameworks, and validate conclusions rigorously.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational execution, ensuring recommendations translate into sustained, real-world change.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear executive-ready outputs.
  • High level of ownership, with a track record of delivering outcomes that persist beyond your direct involvement.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with minimal predefined structure.
  • Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or service-based operational environments is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with senior-level strategic and operational leadership roles.
  • Fully remote work opportunity within the United States.
  • High-impact role with direct exposure to executive leadership and company-wide decision-making.
  • Opportunity to build and define a new function from the ground up in a high-growth organization.
  • Fast-paced, mission-driven environment focused on improving healthcare access and outcomes.
  • Strong potential for career growth, including future team leadership responsibilities.
