Foundational Sales Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Foundational Sales Engineer based in the United States.

As a Foundational Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical voice behind a growing cybersecurity platform, helping customers understand and adopt innovative AI-driven security solutions. This is a high-impact opportunity to build the foundation of a sales engineering function while partnering directly with leadership on strategic deals. You will work closely with CISOs, security teams, and executive stakeholders to deliver compelling demonstrations, technical discovery, and solution guidance. This role combines customer engagement, cybersecurity expertise, and AI innovation in a fast-growing environment where your ideas will directly shape processes, tools, and team culture. It is ideal for a hands-on pre-sales professional looking for ownership, influence, and long-term leadership potential.

Accountabilities
  • Lead technical discovery sessions and deliver tailored product demonstrations for CISOs, security teams, HR leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Serve as the technical partner throughout the sales cycle, translating customer challenges into effective security solutions.
  • Partner with sales leadership to support strategic opportunities, customer conversations, and deal progression.
  • Develop and maintain technical sales assets, including demo environments, solution briefs, battle cards, and enablement materials.
  • Own and build the sales engineering playbook, including processes, tools, documentation, and best practices.
  • Support security assessments, questionnaires, RFPs, and RFIs through efficient AI-assisted workflows.
  • Communicate complex cybersecurity concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Gather customer insights and feedback to influence product strategy and improve solution positioning.
  • Build internal AI-driven workflows and automation tools that improve sales efficiency and go-to-market effectiveness.
  • Help establish the foundation for a scalable sales engineering organization and future team growth.
Requirements
  • 3–6 years of experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical account management.
  • Background in cybersecurity or adjacent fields such as threat intelligence, identity security, OSINT, or credential exposure is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to confidently engage with security leaders, including CISOs, while adapting communication for executive audiences.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and the ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes.
  • Experience conducting product demonstrations, technical discovery sessions, and solution presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, sales enablement materials, or customer-facing content.
  • Comfortable working in an early-stage environment where processes, tools, and best practices are still being developed.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to leverage AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies to improve workflows.
  • Ownership mindset with the ability to work independently, solve problems, and influence cross-functional teams.
Benefits
  • Opportunity to join an early-stage, high-growth cybersecurity company with significant ownership and influence.
  • Foundational role with the potential to build and lead the future sales engineering function.
  • Competitive compensation package with equity opportunity.
  • Remote work flexibility within the United States.
  • Direct partnership with executive leadership and visibility into strategic business decisions.
  • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI-driven security technology.
  • Ability to shape processes, customer experiences, technical strategy, and team culture from the ground up.
  • Collaborative environment focused on innovation, learning, and professional growth.
