Job Description:
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for coordinating daily warehouse operations, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, inventory management, and shipment of products. This role provides hands-on leadership to warehouse team members, promotes a safe and efficient work environment, and ensures compliance with food safety, quality, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
-Warehouse Operations - Coordinate and assist with daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping. Ensure products are handled, stored, and rotated according to FIFO requirements. Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness. Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed. Monitor warehouse productivity and workflow to meet operational goals.
-Leadership & Team Support - Provide direction and support to warehouse team members during daily operations. Assist with employee training, onboarding, and task assignments. Promote accountability, teamwork, and adherence to company policies
Communicate operational priorities and shift expectations to warehouse team. Serve as the primary point of contact when management is unavailable.
-Inventory Control - Monitor inventory levels and storage locations. Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations. Investigate inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions. Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in warehouse systems.
-Food Safety, Quality & Compliance - Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, and quality requirements. Monitor product handling and storage conditions to maintain freshness and product integrity. Ensure all warehouse activities comply with company safety standards. Report damaged product, food safety concerns, and equipment issues promptly.
-Safety & Equipment - Promote safe operation of pallet jacks, forklifts, and warehouse equipment. Ensure work areas remain organized and free of hazards
Support warehouse inspections and corrective actions. Reinforce PPE compliance and safe work practices throughout the warehouse.
-Cross-Functional Collaboration - Coordinate with Production, QA, Transportation, and Operations teams. Assist with product transfers between facilities. Support scheduling and logistical needs to ensure timely deliveries and shipments.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED required.
-Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or food production environment.
-Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience preferred.
-Strong organizational and communication skills.
-Basic computer and inventory management system experience.
-Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime as needed.
Work Environment:
-Work is performed in warehouse, cooler, freezer, dock, and production-adjacent environments.
-Frequent exposure to cold temperatures, including refrigerated storage areas.
-Exposure to wet floors, moving equipment, palletized product, and warehouse traffic.
-Required to follow all PPE guidelines when entering warehouse or production areas, including hairnets, gloves, safety vests, and other protective equipment as required.
-Closed-toe, slip-resistant safety footwear is required at all times.
-Regular interaction with forklift traffic, pallet jacks, and transportation equipment
-Will require work during weekends, holidays, or peak production periods.
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
-Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and climbing.
-Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance or equipment.
-Ability to manually move pallets and product using pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
-Ability to work in cold, wet, and fast-paced warehouse environments.
-Manual dexterity to operate scanners, computers, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
-Visual ability to read labels, inventory documents, and shipping paperwork.
-Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.
