What You’ll Do

As a Radiology Technologist, you will report to the Practice Manager. Operates basic x-ray equipment determining the quality and quantity of ionizing radiation to make quality radiographies. Administers medical x-rays on injured and/or sick patients, as directed by a physician, following accepted procedures and policies. Performs routine laboratory tests as ordered. Assumes reception desk responsibilities when the medical receptionist is unavailable.

Radiology Technologist Job Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic radiology procedures while ensuring radiation safety and quality standards.
  • Provides patient care support, including assessments, vital signs, specimen collection, injections, lab testing, and EKGs.
  • Assists physicians with examinations, minor procedures, and emergency care activities.
  • Maintains radiology, laboratory, and patient records, ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR.
  • Educates patients on procedures, treatments, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Coordinates scheduling, referrals, diagnostic testing, and patient follow-up.
  • Triages patient calls and supports efficient clinical workflows.
  • Maintains equipment, supplies, exam rooms, and compliance with infection prevention standards.
  • Conducts drug and alcohol testing in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, licensure, certification, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through successful completion of an approved school of radiology technology with subsequent registration and state licensure within six months of date of employment.
  • A minimum of one year of health care experience is required.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills to evaluate findings, excellent communication abilities to effectively interact with patients and healthcare providers, and the ability to understand and follow medical and radiographic terminology. Success in this role also requires strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in administrative tasks such as typing, filing, and telephone communication, the ability to perform venipuncture, and the manual dexterity necessary to operate and adjust radiographic equipment and related devices.
