Job Description
Job Title: Senior Equipment Specialist
America's ability to detect, identify, and respond to airborne threats begins with reliable long-range radar systems. This position supports the modernization and sustainment of Hawaii's Air Route Surveillance Radar (ARSR-4), a critical capability supporting NORAD, U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM), Pacific operations, air traffic control, and weather monitoring. Working alongside Government personnel, you will help modernize one of the Air Force's most important surveillance systems, ensuring continued mission readiness for homeland defense and regional security.
If you enjoy solving technical challenges, working with complex electronic systems, and collaborating across engineering, logistics, and sustainment teams, this is an opportunity to directly support the warfighter while helping extend the life of a vital national defense capability.
In this role, you will provide Equipment Specialist support by performing configuration management activities and applying logistics best practices, including Performance-Based Logistics (PBL), public-private partnerships, and supply chain management principles throughout the acquisition and sustainment lifecycle. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain, update, and manage Technical Orders (TOs), Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs), and associated technical documentation for multiple radar systems.
- Perform Technical Order validation and verification activities while supporting Electronic Technical Information Management System (ETIMS) sustainment.
- Maintain system configuration baselines and support implementation of engineering and configuration changes.
- Develop and maintain technical drawing packages and associated system documentation.
- Provide technical assistance to field units by troubleshooting equipment issues, supporting maintenance activities, and resolving sustainment challenges.
- Identify equipment obsolescence issues and assist with evaluating replacement parts and alternate sources of supply.
- Provide technical input supporting discrepancy reports, corrective actions, and sustainment planning.
- Support supply chain management activities by processing new items into Government supply systems and updating existing logistics data.
- Coordinate with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), engineering organizations, and other Department of Defense agencies to support equipment sustainment.
- Monitor modification parts, National Stock Numbers (NSNs), provisioning data, and contractor-supported logistics requirements.
- Support Agile and Waterfall development efforts associated with system modernization initiatives.
- Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), and implementation of approved engineering changes.
- Support Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs), Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), compliance reviews, and action item tracking.
- Utilize Government maintenance and logistics systems, including IMDS and REMIS, to support Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) reporting and equipment readiness.
- Apply configuration management principles and logistics best practices throughout the lifecycle of Air Force radar and surveillance systems.
