Job Description
Jones Payne is seeking a Project Accountant to support our firm. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative team handling all project accounting, contracts, and reporting requirements for large-scale architecture projects. The position is based in our Boston, Massachusetts headquarters.
We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and works effectively both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate enjoys improving processes, embraces new technology, and is always looking for better ways to support our project teams. Project accounting experience in a professional services environment is preferred.

- Develop fee proposals, task orders, and contracts based on guidance from project managers.
- Prepare monthly client invoicing and project financial reporting.
- Develop revenue projections based on guidance from project managers.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of staff resource forecasting.
- Prepare monthly project accruals and assist with month-end financial activities.
- Perform monthly online project reporting.
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance.
- Work closely with project managers to support project planning and financial decision-making.
- Assist with project setup and maintenance in Unanet.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of project accounting or related accounting experience, preferably within a professional services environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/project accounting systems such as Unanet, Deltek, or similar software.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- An eagerness to learn and capable of working quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines.
