Job Description
The Warehouse Worker is primarily responsible for picking and assembling product and rope. It is responsible for accurately selecting products from inventory locations, assembling products according to company specifications, preparing orders for shipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to consistently meet daily production and quality standards.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Accurately pick products using pick lists, tablet, or the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Verify item numbers, quantities, and product condition before processing.
- Organize picked items for assembly or shipment.
- Report inventory discrepancies, shortages, or damaged products to Inventory Control (IC) or management.
- Assemble products according to established work instructions and quality standards.
- Inspect components prior to assembly to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Ensure completed products meet company quality specifications.
- Package assembled products for shipment or storage in a manner that protects them from damage.
- Operate rope-cutting equipment to prepare materials for production.
- Safely operate assembly tools and equipment, including power screwdrivers and propane flame heaters.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks to transport raw materials and finished products.
- Assist with cone stenciling and packaging when needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks when needed.
- Assist with parcel shipping if needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout each shift.
- Follow all company safety policies, warehouse procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and business operations.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or assembly experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to regularly lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and repetitive hand and wrist movements to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Basic math, counting, and measurement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to safely operate production machinery and assembly equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including standard operating procedures.
- Strong commitment to product quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory movement.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production equipment.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the workday when necessary.
- Ability to safely operate manual and electric pallet jacks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Regular exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, manual and electric pallet jacks, propane flame heaters, and other production equipment.
- Compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and established operating procedures is required at all times.
