Manufacturing and distribution environment seeking candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, material handling, shipping, packaging, warehouse operations, forklift operation, and/or assembly.
Primary responsibilities include hanging, removing, stacking, bundling, banding, packaging, labeling, staging, picking, loading, and transporting metal parts and finished products. Associates may work with beams, uprights, posts, tubes, welded components, pallet racks, decking, wireway, and other manufactured products.
Material Handling / Production Responsibilities:
Hang parts and assemblies on a paint line/paint chain according to established specifications.
Remove painted parts from the paint line and organize, stack, rack, bundle, and prepare materials for storage or shipment.
Operate steel banding equipment and secure products into bundles.
Handle and move heavy or oversized materials safely.
Work as part of a team to load, unload, stage, and organize materials.
Inspect products for obvious defects, damage, accuracy, and quality.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining production equipment, paint booths, racks, hooks, and work areas.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, material shortages, or other problems to supervisors.
Forklift / Equipment Operation:
Operate forklift, sit-down forklift, lift truck, power lift equipment, hand trucks, carts, and other material-handling equipment.
Transport raw materials, work-in-process materials, finished goods, and production components throughout the facility.
Load and unload trucks and move materials between production, staging, inventory, and shipping areas.
Complete daily forklift/equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
Follow all forklift certification requirements and workplace safety procedures.
Experience with forklift operation or forklift certification preferred/required for applicable positions.
Shipping / Warehouse Responsibilities:
Pull and stage materials using pick tickets, work orders, shipping orders, computer systems, written instructions, and verbal instructions.
Verify part numbers, order numbers, quantities, sizes, colors, dimensions, and product specifications.
Read and use a tape measure/ruler to verify material dimensions and shipment accuracy.
Pick materials from inventory/bin locations and prepare orders for shipment.
Break down bundles, count parts, band, box, wrap, shrink-wrap, label, and stage finished products.
Prepare and verify shipping documentation and identification labels.
Perform inventory counts, cycle counts, inventory control, order verification, and material tracking.
Identify and report damaged, defective, incorrect, or missing materials before shipment.
Load flatbed, LTL, and closed-van shipments safely and efficiently.
Assist with determining proper truck layouts, load configurations, and material placement.
Use computer systems/Microsoft applications to enter and update load information, order verification, shipment information, and timing.
Operate a band saw as required.
