About the role

Dallas Animal Urgent Care is currently looking to add an experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to our amazing team!

Aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative, and flexible environment are preferred. Employees who are detail-oriented with a strong dedication to safety and patient care will meet with success. All candidates must be able to clear initial and random background checks, medical, and drug screenings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The qualified Assistant Veterinary Technician will successfully perform the following functions:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital
  • Wrapping and sterilizing surgical equipment and instruments
  • Assisting the veterinary technician to complete treatments as needed
  • Canine and feline restraint
  • Assist with in-house diagnostics
  • Preparing medications
  • Restock and maintain inventory in surgical suite
  • Restock supplies in treatment area and clinic
  • Maintain clinic and breakroom cleanliness
  • Keep up with washing/drying clinic laundry
  • Some clerical work may be required

Job Types: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 10-hour shift
  • Holidays
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed
  • Day Shift
  • Night Shift (Preferred)

A successful, long-term candidate will need to:

  • Have 1+years of veterinary experience.
  • Be able to handle the pace and unpredictability of an Urgent Care practice
  • Be a champion multitasker
  • Have a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Spanish-speaking preferred but not required

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Veterinary experience: 1 year (Required)

$17-$21/hour
