Safety & Training Technician in McDonald, Tennessee at AMAERO ADVANCED MATERIAL & MANUFACTURING INC

The Safety & Training Technician support the Amaero’s safety and employee training programs through workplace inspections, hazard identification, exposure monitoring, and task-specific training for manufacturing employees.

The position will work closely with Operations and EHS leadership to promote safe work practices and ensure Manufacturing Operators are properly trained in power handling, blending, sieving, material transfer, packaging, equipment cleaning, and related production activities.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment, training employees, identifying workplace hazards, conducting safety observations and exposure monitoring, and maintaining accurate safety and training records.

SAFETY & WORKPLACE MONITORING

• Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Identify unsafe conditions and work practices and assist with corrective actions.
• Perform personal and area monitoring for airborne metal powders, dust, particulates, and other workplace contaminants as needed.
• Maintain exposure-monitoring, inspection, and safety documentation.
• Assist with JHAs, JSAs, task-specific risk assessments, and applicable safety programs including LOTO, machine guarding, fall protection, electrical safety, hot work, and emergency preparedness.
• Participate in incident and near-miss investigations and corrective-action follow-up.

EMPLOYEE TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

• Provide initial, refresher, and task-specific training for Manufacturing Operators and other employees.
• Conduct training related to blending, sieving, powder handling, material transfer, packaging, equipment cleaning, and other manufacturing processes.
• Train employees on metal-powder hazards, combustible dust, static electricity, PPE, housekeeping, exposure controls, and required safe-work practices.
• Reinforce applicable SOPs, SMPs, work instructions, JHAs, JSAs, and safety procedures.
• Support hands-on equipment training and observe employees to verify safe and competent task performance.
• Identify employees requiring additional coaching or retraining.
• Maintain training records, qualification matrices, and competency documentation.

Support new-hire orientation, toolbox talks, safety alerts, and updates to training materials.

REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing safety, employee training, occupational health, industrial safety, or a related field.
• Ability to identify workplace hazards and provide hands-on employee training.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements and industrial safety practices.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Experience training manufacturing or production employees.
• Experience with airborne particulate monitoring or combustible-dust hazards.
• OSHA 30-hour certification.

Experience in advanced manufacturing, metal processing, additive manufacturing, powder handling, or similar industrial environments.
