Description:

Position: Senior Network System Administrator

Requisition/Position Number: SNSE

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Network System Administrator who thrives in complex environments, takes pride in operational excellence, and brings sharp technical expertise with a proactive, solutions-first mindset. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to the reliability, security, and performance of customer's enterprise networks by keeping systems secure, stable, and fully operational for analysts, leaders, VIP users, and mission partners who depend on flawless connectivity. You’ll work hands-on with Cisco infrastructure, secure communications systems, and mission-critical data-center technologies, ensuring every system performs at its best when it matters most. If you’re energized by meaningful work, driven by high standards, and ready to support a mission that truly matters, you’ll feel right at home here.

Capabilities

  • Administer UNET and SNET networks using Cisco networking equipment, ensuring full compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Manage all work assignments through BMC TrackIT/FootPrints and respond to critical and VIP tickets within one hour of notification.
  • Install and integrate hardware, operating systems, and software in alignment with Information Assurance (IA) security requirements and DISA guidance.
  • Maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure and data center components, including switches, routers, hubs, servers (Windows and Unix), SANs, backup systems, and cabling to ensure 100% operability during core hours.
  • Support Unified Capabilities, including VoIP, VoSIP, and ECVoIP devices—installing, configuring, and validating communication with remote analysts.
  • Administer the Trusted Gateway System to ensure secure data transfer between networks of the same classification level.
  • Analyze network performance using What’s Up Gold metrics and recommend modifications to maintain optimal efficiency.
  • Ensure operational communications links for NIPRNET, SIPRNET, JWICS, and CENTRIXS, coordinating with NEC, GISA, and PACOM help desks as needed.
  • Provide software support for AGM images and CAA-specific COTS/GOTS applications, maintaining monthly software tracking reports.
  • Install and update antivirus software and signatures in accordance with DISA IAVA or Army releases, applying updates as frequently as required.
  • Apply security patches immediately upon release and notification by the COR or CTO to mitigate IA vulnerabilities.
  • Administer HP physical and virtual server environments, including SANs, application servers, and NetBackup systems, using VMware, What’s Up Gold, and Microsoft management consoles.
  • Install PKI server-side certificates and configure SSL and other secure methods for VPN, Citrix, SQL, and Oracle servers in accordance with DISA STIGs.
  • Configure and support CAC/PKI authentication, ensuring proper provisioning of EDIPI numbers for network and application access.
  • Utilize COTS automation tools such as NEWT Pro, SCCM, and Symantec GHOST to streamline deployment of client software packages.
  • Support design and configuration of user-facility IT infrastructure, including voice and video systems across OSI layers, cabling, telecommunications rooms, switches, servers, SANs, and enterprise migrations. Provide technical input during formal and informal government discussions.

Education, Certifications, and Training
