X-RAY TECH:

The description below is intended to depict the general content and requirements for the performance of this position. It is not to be constructed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.

JOB SUMMARY:

The responsibilities of the Registered Tech are patient preparation, as well as, assisting the physician with the procedures and minor surgeries. Also performs various diagnostic test and patient education in the clinic. Maintains equipment and acts as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMO’s and other physician’s offices, as well as, with the patient. Supports other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow. Other duties include upkeep of all equipment, maintaining records and reporting results. Upkeep of equipment license.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Current Arkansas License. Degree from an accredited institution.

· Must have RTL license in the state of Arkansas and maintain ARRT registration

· CPR Certified

· High school diploma or GED

· Previous Clinical experience preferred.

RESPONSIBITILITES/DUTIES

· Assists physician during procedures as directed, and cleans up afterwards in a timely manner.

· Performs any diagnostic test quickly and accurately and documents results in patient’s chart.

· Thoroughly explains the nature of exam, tests, or treatment to the patient and maintains accurate records for follow-up of test results. Performs patient education deemed by physician.

· Makes appropriate arrangements for follow up and/or continuing care such as outpatient procedures, ect.

· Receives and organizes medical samples daily, maintain inventory of medical supplies and submits requests in writing to the clinic administrator.

· Administer injections or medications using appropriate technique as ordered by physician and maintain accurate records of each per regulatory guidelines.

· Screens patient telephone calls, return messages, reports test results, calls in orders and prescriptions and documents accurately in patient’s chart.

· Assists other staff members as needed to ensure smooth patient flow.

· Obtains pre-authorizations necessary for physician to conduct exam or procedure.

· Escorts patient to exam room, accurately records vital signs, height and weight, brief history and current medications.

· Replaces table paper, clean and stock exam rooms as needed.

· Ensures equipment is clean and/or sterile for the physicians use.

· Follow all policies and procedures regarding safety, infection control per guidelines.

· Maintains accurate records of each procedure for billing purposes, as well as patients record.
