Schedule: Thursday – Sunday
Compensation: $250 per shift ($30/hr)
Spencer's is looking for a dependable and experienced Licensed Massage Therapist Floater to provide coverage and support during our busiest days. This unique role is designed for a therapist who is comfortable being onsite during shift and available to step in when coverage is needed.
As a Floater, you will be onsite Thursday through Sunday and available to provide massage services in the event of therapist call-outs, emergencies, last-minute schedule changes, or unexpected guest demand. When coverage is not needed, you may support the spa team with guest experience and operational needs.
This is an ideal opportunity for a licensed therapist looking for a consistent weekend commitment while maintaining flexibility in their schedule.
Role and Responsibilities- Be onsite and available Thursday through Sunday during scheduled shifts.
- Provide massage treatments when needed due to therapist call-outs, emergencies, schedule changes, or increased guest demand.
- Deliver Spencer's luxury hospitality experience to every guest.
- Assess, consult, and perform full-body massage treatments and specialty treatments professionally and attentively.
- Provide massage sessions of varying durations based on each guest's individual needs and preferences.
- Provide exceptional, client-centered service and care to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain strong professional boundaries and uphold Spencer's standards of service and professionalism.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms and shared spa spaces.
- Support the spa team with guest experience and operational needs when massage coverage is not required.
- Collaborate with therapists, Spa Hosts, and management to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Participate in specialized, paid training programs and monthly upskilling sessions.
- Remain flexible and responsive to changing business needs throughout the day.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Valid New York State Massage Therapy License.
- 500+ hours of training from an approved provider.
- 2+ years of experience in a luxury spa environment preferred.
- Availability and commitment to work Thursday through Sunday.
- Ability to remain onsite and ready to provide coverage throughout scheduled shifts.
- Strong interpersonal and professional skills with clearly articulated boundaries.
- A team-oriented mindset and willingness to jump in wherever support is needed.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to adapt to different guest needs and preferences.
- A passion for providing exceptional, client-centered massage and luxury hospitality.
- Willingness to learn Spencer's protocols and attend paid training and upskilling sessions.
- Ability to perform Deep Tissue techniques when required.
- Experience with hot stones, Thai massage, and reflexology preferred.
- Ability to handle unexpected changes and difficult situations with professionalism and ease.
- This position requires bending, stooping, and moving items up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, including standing, for up to 2 hours at a time, and move throughout the space to access supplies and equipment.
$250 per day + tips if you perform massages.
This daily rate is paid for being onsite and available to provide coverage as needed. If called upon to perform massage treatments, the Floater will provide services according to Spencer's established treatment protocols and scheduling practices.
