Job Description

Description:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting with patient care, maintaining patient records, and completing administrative duties that assist in the management of the patient experience. This is a full-time position. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Fields patient phone calls promptly and in a professional manner.
  • Assists physician and PA/ATC with clinical operations.
  • Rooms patients and prepares patients for scheduled procedures.
  • Prepares rooms for patient visit, as well as cleaning and replenishing room inventory, post visit
  • Comfortable and competent in casting (or willing to learn).
  • Completes shift opening and closing procedures.
  • Comfortable cross training between clinical teams.
Requirements:

Medical Assistant, EMT, LPN or RN licensing/certification, preferred but not required.

Associate or 2 year degree preferred.

Experience with patient care and medical practice administrative duties, preferred.

Excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills required.

Demonstrated problem solving and workflow management skills required.

Must maintain a professional attitude towards patients and an excellent and collegial working. relationship with other Steadman Clinic and hospital personnel in involved in patient care.

Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, and manage time effectively.

Computer and EHR software proficiency.

Requires sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time.

Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 lbs.

Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
