Aftercare in Bluffton, South Carolina at Cross Schools

Cross Schools is seeking caring, dependable, and energetic individuals to join our Aftercare team. Aftercare staff provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for students after the school day while reflecting the mission and values of Cross Schools. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, building positive relationships, and serving in a Christ-centered school community.

• Supervise students in a safe, positive, and structured environment.
• Lead age-appropriate games, activities, crafts, homework assistance, and outdoor play.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff members.
• Maintain accurate attendance and student sign-out procedures.
• Communicate professionally with parents during student pick-up.
• Assist with snack distribution and clean-up.
• Maintain clean, organized classrooms and activity spaces.
• Follow all Cross Schools policies, emergency procedures, and child safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate Christian character and support the mission and values of Cross Schools.

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise groups of children while maintaining a positive and engaging atmosphere.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Must successfully complete required background screenings.

• Monday through Friday
• Approximately 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. during the school year
• Additional hours may be available on teacher workdays, early dismissal days, and school breaks.

• Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and participate in recreational activities.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
