This senior freelance role provides an opportunity to step into a leadership position with immediate impact across a portfolio of complex digital engagements. You will connect delivery strategy, operations, client success, and business growth while helping teams consistently deliver high-quality work. Working closely with executive, Growth, Finance, Staffing, and discipline leaders, you will shape proposals, scopes, staffing strategies, forecasts, and commercial approaches. You will also guide delivery leaders through complex challenges and help strengthen operational systems and practices. The role offers meaningful influence over both current engagements and the long-term evolution of delivery operations. It is particularly suited to an experienced digital delivery leader who combines commercial judgment, operational rigor, and strong client leadership.
- Partner with Growth and executive leadership on proposals, new business pursuits, and client expansions by developing delivery strategies, scopes of work, staffing plans, timelines, forecasts, and commercial assumptions.
- Contribute delivery strategy, operational thinking, and risk management to complex pitches and business development opportunities.
- Author and support the development of statements of work, lead contract negotiations, and ensure new engagements are structured for successful delivery.
- Oversee delivery across a portfolio of complex client engagements, ensuring work remains on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality expectations.
- Connect delivery strategy with broader business objectives, financial performance, staffing needs, and client success.
- Review scopes, staffing models, timelines, utilization, and forecasts to identify risks early and develop practical recovery plans.
- Build and improve delivery systems, operational frameworks, tools, documentation, and team rituals that increase predictability and consistency.
- Guide delivery leaders through complex client situations, escalations, operational challenges, and competing priorities.
- Partner with Growth, Finance, Staffing, and discipline leaders on forecasting, resource planning, utilization, and overall portfolio health.
- Coach and support Executive Producers and other delivery leaders, promoting accountability, collaboration, and sustainable working practices.
- Drive continuous improvement through better tooling, documentation, AI-enabled workflows, and scalable operational processes.
- Lead organizational and operational change thoughtfully, balancing immediate business requirements with longer-term improvements.
- Foster strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders while maintaining transparency, sound judgment, and a high standard of delivery leadership.
- Significant experience leading delivery organizations, PMOs, production teams, or comparable functions within a digital agency, consultancy, product organization, or technology-focused environment.
- Proven experience overseeing a portfolio of complex digital engagements rather than managing individual projects exclusively.
- Strong operational and financial expertise, including forecasting, staffing, utilization, margins, resource planning, and delivery management.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable delivery systems, operational frameworks, processes, and team practices.
- Experience supporting new business initiatives, including proposals, scoping, estimating, staffing strategies, commercial planning, and client presentations.
- Strong commercial judgment and the ability to balance client objectives, delivery quality, team health, and business performance.
- Exceptional decision-making skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, risk, and executive-level situations.
- Experience managing managers and developing high-performing delivery or production teams.
- Excellent client partnership skills, with the ability to establish trust through transparency, strategic thinking, clear communication, and calm leadership.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities, with experience aligning diverse teams around shared goals and execution plans.
- Curiosity about emerging technologies and AI, combined with an interest in using better tools and workflows to improve how teams operate.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, collaborative environment and quickly establish credibility in a senior leadership capacity.
- Contract compensation: Expected rate of $75–$90 per hour, depending on location, experience, and skillset.
- Regional compensation ranges are adjusted for cost of living, with three U.S. pay bands providing different geographic adjustments.
- Fixed-term freelance engagement providing an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with immediate organizational impact.
- Opportunity to collaborate with executive leadership and multidisciplinary teams across delivery, Growth, Finance, Staffing, and creative/technology disciplines.
- Meaningful influence over delivery strategy, operational systems, business development, and client outcomes.
- Opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of digital products, experiences, and client engagements.
- Benefits may be available where applicable, depending on applicable law, hours worked, and assignment duration.
