POSITION SUMMARY

The planning & procurement lead is responsible for creating and maintaining a production schedule for the facility & for procuring necessary materials to support the production plan. This role will be matrixed and report to the Integrated Supply Chain Director as well as the Business Process Lead – Production planning. The role will vary in complexity subject to the mix of machines/capabilities of the facility as well as the number of raw materials and consumables purchased for a facility.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Generate, issue, and manage purchase orders and ensure raw materials and indirect consumables are available for production based upon material usage, production schedules and supplier lead times.

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure a reliable supply chain and resolve any issues, such as defective products or late deliveries.

Assesses, manages and mitigates risk associated with assigned materials and consumables. Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts while avoiding overstocking.

Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery speed and ensure these new suppliers are effectively onboarded.

Develop and manage production schedules to ensure products are manufactured in an efficient manner and are delivered on time to meet customer demand.

Monitor open orders and proactively expedite or reschedule deliveries as demand or supply conditions change to mitigate risks and avoid production disruptions.

Participate in site SLT if requested by site manager

Identify and resolve production-related bottlenecks, and unforeseen disruptions in a timely manner to avoid production downtime.

Maintain schedule and coordinate with customer care of any risks to confirm order confirmations with customers

Analyze sales data and historical data to forecast future material and production needs.

Communicates and develops close working relationships with internal customers and departments such as quality, customer care, finance and production.

Responsible for cost savings initiatives and execution.

Perform analysis of supplier costs, quality and delivery to identify areas of improvement.

Collaboratively plans and supports in new product development programs.

Support the quality requirements and policies for maintaining the Approved Supply List.

Support Finance and Shipping and Receiving in resolution of invoice issues or receiving differences.

Additional REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills: Please write clearly and concisely any additional qualifications/skills that are required to perform the job competently. 1. Bachelor’s degree in business.

2. 5-7 years procurement/production planning experience.

3. Working knowledge of automated inventory control and MRP systems such as SAP or similar ERP systems.

4. Working knowledge of personal computer applications preferably Microsoft Word and Excel.

3. Strong organizational and prioritizing skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
