In this role, you’ll contribute to the continued development of a specialized software solution that helps producers streamline operations from grape to bottle. You’ll design and deliver new features and RESTful APIs while improving system performance, reliability, and scalability. Working closely with product and cross-functional teams, you’ll help translate business and customer needs into high-quality technical solutions. The role offers the opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges, experiment with new technologies, and contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives. You’ll also play an active role in maintaining engineering quality, supporting customers, and strengthening a collaborative development culture.

• Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of key product features and RESTful APIs aligned with business and customer needs.
• Develop and maintain high-quality software while following established coding standards and engineering best practices.
• Optimize application and database performance through effective concurrency approaches and query optimization.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives that assess new ideas and support the adoption of innovative technologies.
• Participate in project scoping, technical design discussions, and early identification of potential delivery risks.
• Conduct and contribute to peer code reviews to promote maintainable, consistent, and high-quality code.
• Apply automated testing strategies and Test-Driven Development practices to strengthen software quality.
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to ensure technical implementations support the overall product vision.
• Troubleshoot and triage issues affecting customers, delivering timely and effective fixes.
• Share technical knowledge with colleagues and contribute to a supportive, highly collaborative engineering environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in software development or a related engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in Java, with practical hands-on experience developing applications using Spring Boot.
• Solid experience designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Practical experience working with relational databases, particularly MySQL, and ORM technologies such as Hibernate.
• Understanding of database and query optimization techniques.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including automated testing, code reviews, and TDD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences.
• Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge and contribute to team development.
• Experience with React and TypeScript for web interfaces is a plus.
• Experience with JSF and PrimeFaces is also desirable.
• Must be located in Australia and comfortable working within a remote-first environment.
