The M2M Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining machine-to-machine (M2M), Internet of Things (IoT), device, customer, and service data in company systems. The role supports reliable device connectivity, billing, inventory control, reporting, and operational efficiency by ensuring records are complete, accurate, secure, and current.
Key Responsibilities- Enter and update M2M device information, including SIM or eSIM details, IMEI numbers, serial numbers, account information, service plans, activation dates, and device status.
- Process device activations, suspensions, deactivations, transfers, and other service changes according to approved procedures.
- Review source documents, spreadsheets, system reports, and customer requests for completeness and accuracy before entry.
- Verify entered data against source records and correct errors, duplicate records, and inconsistencies.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM, ERP, inventory, billing, and device-management platforms.
- Import, export, format, and reconcile large data files while preserving data integrity.
- Monitor assigned work queues and complete requests within established service-level agreements and deadlines.
- Escalate missing information, unusual usage patterns, system issues, and unresolved discrepancies to the appropriate team.
- Prepare routine reports on activations, inventory, exceptions, data quality, and completed transactions.
- Protect confidential customer, commercial, and device information and follow all privacy and information-security requirements.
- Support audits, data-cleanup projects, process improvements, and other administrative duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in business administration, information technology, or data management is preferred.
- Previous data entry, administrative, telecommunications, logistics, or inventory experience is preferred.
- Fast and accurate keyboarding skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.
- Ability to learn CRM, ERP, billing, inventory, and M2M device-management systems.
- Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle repetitive tasks, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential information.
- Basic understanding of M2M, IoT, cellular connectivity, SIM/eSIM technology, IMEI numbers, and device life cycles.
- Experience with bulk data uploads, database records, order processing, or service provisioning.
