Data Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Architect based in Brazil.

This is a strategic opportunity to shape data architecture for a major regulatory compliance initiative.
You will serve as a key reference for architecture, governance, traceability, and enterprise data flows.
The role involves assessing the current data landscape and designing a future-state architecture aligned with regulatory and business needs.
You will establish architectural standards, blueprints, and best practices for critical regulatory data assets.
The position requires close collaboration with Data, Engineering, Security, Governance, Risk, Compliance, and business teams.
Your work will directly support data quality, security, auditability, regulatory readiness, and sustainable data management.
It is an ideal role for a systems-oriented data professional who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments.

Accountabilities
  • Act as the Data Architecture reference for a strategic project focused on compliance with Joint Resolution No. 18.
  • Map the current-state architecture, identifying systems, databases, integrations, transformations, dependencies, and existing data flows.
  • Define the future-state architecture and establish end-to-end data flows capable of supporting regulatory requirements.
  • Develop architectural blueprints, standards, guidelines, and best practices for regulatory data assets.
  • Establish and ensure requirements related to data governance, metadata, data catalogs, lineage, quality, security, and traceability.
  • Conduct gap and risk assessments, identifying architectural weaknesses and recommending remediation and evolution plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Data, Engineering, Security, Governance, Risk, Compliance, and business stakeholders.
  • Produce clear technical documentation to support implementation, audits, operational sustainability, and future architecture decisions.
  • Translate complex regulatory and business requirements into practical architectural principles and technical direction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Solid professional experience in Data Architecture within complex corporate environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture and conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with data governance, data catalogs, metadata, data quality, lineage, and traceability.
  • Knowledge of data integration patterns, ETL/ELT, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, Data Warehouses, and Data Lakes.
  • Understanding of data security, privacy, and controls across the data lifecycle.
  • Ability to create architectural documentation, blueprints, standards, and technical guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in financial institutions, credit cooperatives, or other highly regulated industries is desirable.
  • Previous involvement in regulatory compliance, audit, risk management, or governance projects is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and C4 Model is a plus.
  • Experience with data governance, cataloging, lineage, and data modeling tools is desirable.
  • Knowledge of cloud and on-premises data platforms is advantageous.
  • Certifications such as CDMP, DAMA Data Management Fundamentals, TOGAF, or related Data Governance and Architecture certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise data quality programs and corporate metadata management is desirable.
