Work Location: Alamo Heights-303 W. Sunset Rd San Antonio Texas 78209

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5Pm

The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for compiling, verifying and assembling patient records with a legal responsibility to safeguard these documents when in our custody. Must work effectively with physicians, patients and Team Members, public and external agencies, setting the standard for exceptional patient care. This position is critical to Solis Mammography; by providing outstanding patient care and maintaining the flow of the center, the Medical Records Clerk impacts the profitability of the organization.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred;
  • Minimum two years' experience in healthcare or customer service environment preferred;
  • College coursework preferred.


A Day in the Life of a Medical Records Clerk:

  • Provide services and support for the following areas:
    • Understands, demonstrates and promotes Solis Mammography brand promise;
    • Asks "How can I assist you?" 97% of the time;
    • Facilitates requests for release of medical records or obtains medical records within the timelines defined in the Policy and Procedures;
    • Properly manages records related to Professional Read Only-Outside accounts; provides proper documentation to radiologists as required;
    • Proficient in the use of eRAD/PACS and Penrad;
    • Verifies and/or inputs patient information (demographic, insurance and patient contact information) into system 100% of the time;
    • Explains and assists patients with completion of forms on an as needed basis;
    • Scans documents and links to patient medical records on an as needed basis;
    • Schedules or changes appointments and prepares paperwork for exams;
    • Ensures exams have required orders and requests and follows up on as needed basis;
    • Proficient in handling calls for general patient questions, i.e. directions, hours of operation, etc.;
    • Refers questions regarding medical results to clinical Team Member 100% of the time;
    • Maintains patient confidentiality 100% of the time;
    • Adheres to company policy and procedures;
    • Participates in front office training, as requested by manager;
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
