In addition to being the local plant bread bakery in Gisborne (NZ) and Line-hauling products to the Wairarapa
(NZ), the Group has Bread Crumb and Powder Blending Plants in Dunedin, Melbourne (VIC) and Bathurst NSW. The largest plant in the Group is based in Idaho USA and blends Batter Powders specifically for French Fries. The Group is fully supported by our Technical Facilities based in Auckland NZ and the USA.

The QA Testing Lab performs physical testing of batter samples, supports quality and food safety programs, maintains accurate testing and documentation, and provides support to the Operations, Technical, and Quality teams. This position also utilizes an inventory management system and performs other quality-related activities as assigned.
The position reports directly to the Quality Systems Supervisor and maintains strong communication with the Production Managers and Plant Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support alignment with the company's Strategic Plan.
- Maintain compliance with company Health & Safety Programs.
- Maintain compliance with Quality and Food Safety Programs.
- Perform product testing, including viscosity, chloride testing, and allergen swabbing.
- Accurately document and report test results in a timely manner.
- Review incoming ingredient Certificates of Analysis (COAs) against established product specifications.
- Collect product samples for re-testing and submit samples for microbiological testing.
- Use Excel and the company's inventory management system to enter, retrieve, and maintain information.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory and quality supplies and request replenishment as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in accordance with GMP requirements.
- Provide sanitation support and perform Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) swabbing and monitoring.
- Prepare shipping documentation and assist with coordinating outgoing loads.
- Provide support to the Operations, Technical, and Quality teams as needed.
- Assist with record scanning, filing, and document management.
- Perform other quality-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred
- Experience in food manufacturing.
- Experience in quality assurance, quality control, or laboratory testing.
Schedule: This is a Full-time, Sun-Thurs, Day-Shift position working out of both our Caldwell Plants. Sundays at our plant off Simplot Blvd. The remaining Day Shifts (Mon-Thurs) are based out of our new facility near the Caldwell Airport.
Sunday: Approx 12-5, Mon-Thurs: Approx 8am-5 or 5:30pm.
Please note: As we are a food production facility, we adhere to GMP's including no jewelry or watches, no fingernail polish or fake eyelashes, and when entering the production area, hair coverings, uniforms and safety-toe shoes are required. Uniform is provided and we offer safety shoe reimbursements.
