The Applications Specialist works directly with customers to understand their operational needs and deliver mechanical and electrical solutions that create real, measurable value - improving reliability, performance, and efficiency across their applications. This role combines strong technical expertise with a consultative, customer-first approach, engaging clients in both virtual and face-to-face settings to help solve problems, reduce downtime, and get more out of their equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to understand application requirements and recommend or redesign mechanical and electrical solutions that improve performance, reliability, and value across their operations.
- Conduct customer meetings and technical consultations both virtually and on-site to review applications, gather requirements, and present recommendations.
- Provide application support across a broad range of industrial, manufacturing, and process-driven sectors, adapting solutions to each customer's specific operating environment.
- Evaluate existing equipment and installations to identify opportunities for redesign, upgrade, or troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Support and/or develop technical documentation, specifications, and drawings for customer projects and internal sales efforts.
- Collaborate with the sales team, engineering staff, and vendors to ensure recommended solutions are accurate, cost-effective, and deliverable.
- Support commissioning, installation guidance, and troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical components in the field or remotely.
- Maintain and expand knowledge of product lines, capabilities, and industry trends to support an evolving range of customer applications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, developing a deep understanding of their capabilities and staying current on their evolving products, technologies, and roadmaps.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on each supplier's products and capabilities, cultivating relationships across their organization so they view us as a preferred, knowledgeable partner and prioritize supporting our applications, opportunities, and customers.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers, sales, and engineering to ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Submit reports and project updates as required by management on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical applications, gained through maintenance, installation, application support, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on familiarity with mechanical and electrical components and systems used in industrial applications.
- Comfortable and confident meeting with customers in both virtual and face-to-face environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills applied to real-world mechanical and electrical applications.
- Effective communicator, able to explain technical concepts clearly to customers with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Experience working across multiple industries a plus.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Technology) preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Travel Required
Regional travel to customer sites as needed to support application reviews, installations, and troubleshooting, in addition to virtual customer meetings conducted remotely.
