Business Operations Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Operations Manager based in Brazil.

This is a remote, full-time contract opportunity designed for an experienced operations professional who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment. You will serve as a central point of coordination, helping teams stay organized, aligned, and productive. The role combines business operations, process management, people operations, team culture, and customer support. You will own critical workflows, documentation, deadlines, vendors, onboarding, and internal coordination. Success in this position requires strong judgment, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to proactively identify and resolve blockers. You will collaborate closely with US-based teams while working remotely from Latin America.

Accountabilities:
  • Create, maintain, and continuously improve SOPs, process libraries, trackers, and centralized operational documentation.
  • Manage software subscriptions, licenses, renewals, vendor contracts, insurance and compliance documentation, and other operational deadlines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workflows, maintain project trackers, monitor deliverables and deadlines, identify blockers, and ensure strong project-management hygiene.
  • Support internal communication by preparing meeting agendas, documenting decisions and notes, and ensuring action items are followed through to completion.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding activities, coordinate team training and compliance requirements, and help ensure new team members have a smooth transition.
  • Organize virtual team-building activities, employee acknowledgments, company milestones, and other initiatives that strengthen team culture.
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person events, including travel logistics such as flights, hotels, rental cars, and transportation arrangements.
  • Provide responsive customer support by managing support tickets, moderating community activity, and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Provide additional support for legal, financial, or other operational activities as business needs evolve.
  • Use modern AI tools and automation to improve operational efficiency, reduce repetitive work, and streamline team workflows.
Requirements:
  • 3–5+ years of proven experience in business operations or a closely related role, preferably supporting US-based companies and early- to mid-stage startups.
  • Previous experience working with US-based startup teams is required.
  • Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Based in South America or Central America, with the ability to align with standard US working hours.
  • Strong proficiency with Asana and familiarity with modern remote-work and collaboration tools such as Slack and Google Workspace.
  • Experience using AI productivity tools such as Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms to improve workflows and execution.
  • Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing track of deadlines.
  • Highly proactive and dependable, with the confidence to take ownership and independently move initiatives forward.
  • Strong problem-solving, follow-through, and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working in an evolving, fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience in health, wellness, software, or technology is a strong plus.
Benefits:
  • Compensation: USD $3,200–$3,800 per month, commensurate with experience.
  • Employment: Full-time contractor engagement.
  • Contract term: Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension or renewal.
  • Work arrangement: 100% remote.
  • Location flexibility: Opportunity for candidates based in Latin America, with Central/South America preferred.
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM Pacific Time.
  • Established processes and documentation designed to support a smooth transition into the role.
  • Opportunity to work closely with a dynamic, remote-first startup team.
  • Exposure to business operations, people operations, customer support, technology, and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Opportunity to contribute directly to improving processes, productivity, and team effectiveness.
