This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Privacy Program Manager based in the United States.
This contract role offers the opportunity to drive privacy-by-design initiatives within a leading technology environment.
You will conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and machine learning privacy reviews across new features, products, and services.
Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, and Security teams, you will translate complex data practices into clear privacy documentation.
You will help identify risks early, recommend practical mitigations, and support responsible product launches.
The role combines hands-on privacy expertise with program management, requiring strong organization across multiple concurrent workstreams.
You will also contribute to privacy governance, operational controls, compliance activities, and incident-response coordination.

- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and other technical teams to understand data flows, processing activities, business processes, and technical safeguards.
- Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and machine learning privacy reviews, collaborating with privacy subject matter experts to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks.
- Support privacy-by-design initiatives throughout the product development and launch lifecycle.
- Translate complex technical and data-processing concepts into clear, accurate, and defensible privacy documentation.
- Develop and refine documentation such as end-to-end data flow diagrams, operational controls, assessment materials, and approval documentation.
- Manage multiple privacy assessments and documents simultaneously, tracking status, dependencies, risks, and required actions through completion.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders and privacy teams to finalize and deliver required documentation within established timelines.
- Monitor assessments for compliance and operational risks and proactively surface issues requiring attention or escalation.
- Recommend practical and scalable mitigation strategies that balance privacy requirements with business and technical needs.
- Coordinate with privacy incident-response teams to triage and escalate privacy-related requests when necessary.
- Provide stakeholder updates and drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure privacy requirements are addressed effectively.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in privacy operations, privacy compliance, data governance, or a related discipline within a technology or enterprise environment.
- At least 5 years of program management experience, including leading initiatives from planning through execution, tracking risks, coordinating stakeholders, and reporting progress.
- Proven experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments and supporting privacy-by-design programs.
- Strong understanding of global privacy and data protection laws and frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, LGPD, and PIPEDA.
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical and business processes, identify privacy risks, and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Experience partnering with Legal, Product, Engineering, Data Science, Security, and other cross-functional teams to operationalize privacy requirements.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex privacy and technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple assessments, documentation efforts, and workstreams concurrently.
- Ability to influence without direct authority, build consensus, and maintain strong relationships across global, fast-paced teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving work to completion.
- Familiarity with privacy management platforms such as OneTrust, TrustArc, or BigID is preferred.
- Experience with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Asana is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as AIGP, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Contract position with an estimated duration of approximately 4 months, from September 22, 2026 through January 22, 2027.
- Fully remote work within the United States.
- Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
- Competitive pay rate of $65–$78 per hour, depending on experience.
