Software Engineer
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
This document outlines the responsibilities, skills, and experience required for a Software Engineer position, emphasizing expertise in storage infrastructure, software development, and system design.
· Software development: The role involves full design, planning, configuration, deployment, and support of storage technologies, including capacity planning, performance optimization, and troubleshooting. It also includes participation in the software development lifecycle using methodologies like Agile or Waterfall, ensuring product quality and documentation.
· System design and testing responsibilities: The engineer contributes to designing complex systems and software/storage environments, preparing specifications, implementing test strategies, developing and integrating code, and addressing software defects. They also present project status and prepare technical documentation.
· Technical expertise and collaboration: Required skills include proficiency in C++, C in UNIX/Linux environment with responsibilities covering end-to-end application development, code analysis, design specification writing, and effective team communication. The candidate should be self-driven and capable of working independently or collaboratively.
· Experience and additional skills: The candidate should have over 3 to 6 years of development experience, strong object-oriented programming skills, and familiarity with Unix environments, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, security fundamentals, networking protocols, and automation. Knowledge of Java, cloud technologies, and security is advantageous.
· Expertise in C++, C, UNIX, LINUX. Responsible for end-to-end application development and maintenance activities. Writes solid code in order to add new or enhance existing functionality.
· Write specifications for the product requirements.
· Perform code analysis and reviews of other team members’ work
· Collaborate, communicate effectively and efficiently with other developers on the team to achieve the highest quality code & product.
· Should have ability to drive design and development, ability to work alone and in team.
· Should be self-driven and initiative taker, and a good communicator.
Experience & Skills:
· Has development experience of 3 to 6 years of development experience.
· Strong object-oriented programming skills using C++
· In depth experience in building end-to-end applications for Unix environments.
· Well versed with Windows and Unix, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, threads etc.
· Should have experience in end-to-end design and implementation of large scale, multi-tier applications.
· Should have good understanding of web services on both Windows and Unix.
· Understanding security fundamentals (e.g., authentication, cryptography) is desirable.
· Familiarity with networking protocols, including TCP/IP, TLS/SSL.
· Experience in building REST clients is a plus.
· Familiarity with Windows and Unix security mechanisms.
· Has good build and automation understanding on Unix.
Additional Job Description:
· Knowledge of Cloud technologies is added advantage.
· Knowledge of security is added advantage.
· Know-how of AI, leveraging AI for work.
