What is Expected of You in this Role
We are seeking a dependable Class A Truck Driver to transport lumber and related materials to customers and facilities in the Northeast region. This role is responsible for safe driving, timely delivery, accurate documentation, while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and professional customer interaction.
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (FMCSA/DOT) to deliver company products to customer locations in a timely manner.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload lumber and building materials. Ensure cargo is properly secured and handled to prevent damage and ensure delivery integrity. Safely secure product loads using straps and other approved securement methods. Ensure proper load weight distribution and axle weight compliance in accordance with DOT requirements. Assist with tarping loads when required.
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs and documentation including mileage records, driver logs, and vehicle inspection reports.
- Maintain professionalism and represent the company positively while driving and in all interactions. Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of truck and assigned equipment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and internal teams.
- Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules. Make multiple customer deliveries throughout the day and week, including into New York.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Multiple years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Flatbed experience is a must
- Strong experience with and understanding of load securement, axle weight limitations, and weight distribution requirements.
- Valid Class A CDL license
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with acceptable driving history
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe driving practices and DOT regulations
- Experience delivering throughout New York, including congested and urban delivery locations.
- Familiarity with load securement standards (chains, straps, tarping)
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to read/write, follow instructions, and complete basic written documentation

- Ability to work the assigned shift and OT; consistent attendance and punctuality
What Are the Physical Demands?
- Ability to start at 5:30 AM
- Ability to regularly lift and handle materials as needed (up to 70 lbs)
- Ability to work in prolonged periods of sitting in a truck, standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting
- Ability to work in an outdoor lumberyard and drive a truck in varying temperatures and weather conditions; exposure to outdoor conditions, including varying job sites
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to read and communicate in English
