Advancement Officer - Donor Development and Engagement in Olney, Maryland at Olney Theatre Corporation

Olney Theatre Center, a nationally recognized nonprofit regional theatre, seeks an experienced Advancement Officer to help grow the philanthropic support that makes our work possible. We’re looking for a creative, strategic fundraiser who can identify new donor prospects, craft compelling appeals, build meaningful relationships, and inspire generosity in support of our mission and the future of the arts.

The Advancement Officer – Donor Development and Engagement plays a key role in growing annual contributed revenue through strategic prospect research, portfolio management, donor cultivation, and stewardship. Combining relationship-building with research, writing, and strategic planning, this role manages the full donor engagement cycle—from identifying new prospects and developing personalized solicitations to nurturing lasting relationships and ensuring thoughtful stewardship. While the primary focus is individual giving, the Advancement Officer will also support the research and cultivation of select corporate and foundation donors.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Advancement and working closely with the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Officer is an integral member of Olney’s five-person Advancement team. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, strong written communication, and a collaborative approach to advancing the theatre’s philanthropic goals.
