Take the lead in shaping the global sourcing strategy for the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) category within a global analytical business environment. As Global Category Manager, you will drive strategic procurement initiatives, optimize the supplier base, and strengthen supply chain resilience across international operations. This senior individual contributor role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to translate global category strategy into measurable business results. Working closely with factories and local, regional, and global stakeholders, you will align sourcing priorities with operational and commercial objectives. You will lead supplier negotiations, manage key partnerships, and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability. This is an opportunity to influence a critical procurement category, build long-term supplier capabilities, and deliver tangible impact in a collaborative, execution-focused environment.

Accountabilities
  • Develop and implement the global EMS/PCBA category strategy for the Analytical Business Line, defining supplier footprint, sourcing priorities, risk mitigation, and cost optimization initiatives.

  • Consolidate and optimize the global supply base in collaboration with manufacturing sites and relevant local, regional, and global stakeholders.

  • Lead strategic sourcing activities in accordance with the CIPS process, ensuring suppliers have the capabilities and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.

  • Identify, assess, investigate, and select suppliers based on quality, delivery performance, cost competitiveness, and sustainability.

  • Negotiate commercial agreements with strategic suppliers, including pricing, contract renewals, price lists, terms, and conditions.

  • Manage ongoing supplier relationships and contract performance, ensuring commitments and service expectations are consistently met.

  • Lead procurement planning, budget management, savings forecasts, and cost-reduction programs to achieve financial targets.

  • Identify opportunities to improve sourcing efficiency, strengthen supply continuity, and deliver sustainable category performance.

  • Communicate category strategies and sourcing priorities to relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective implementation across the organization.

  • Monitor category performance against established sourcing targets and take action to address gaps and improve results.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, global procurement, or category management, ideally within Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), or the broader electronics manufacturing industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute global category strategies, translating strategic plans into practical initiatives and measurable results.

  • Strong understanding of supplier management, sourcing processes, procurement planning, and supply chain optimization.

  • Experience managing complex supplier relationships and negotiating commercial agreements, pricing structures, and contractual terms.

  • Ability to assess supplier capabilities and capacity while balancing cost, quality, delivery, risk, and sustainability considerations.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align manufacturing sites, local teams, regional functions, and global leadership around shared objectives.

  • Financial and analytical capabilities, including budget management, savings forecasting, cost analysis, and performance reporting.

  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, combined with a collaborative and pragmatic working style.

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of strategic initiatives, and remain hands-on in execution within a global business environment.

Benefits:
  • Opportunity to lead a strategically important global procurement category with significant business impact.

  • Autonomy to shape the global supplier base and sourcing strategy from the outset.

  • Collaborative, hands-on team environment focused on execution and measurable outcomes.

  • Opportunities to work with international teams and stakeholders across multiple regions.

  • Access to professional development and career growth opportunities within a global organization.

  • For US-based candidates only: expected annual base salary range of USD $119,000–$221,000, depending on qualifications and experience, plus eligibility for an annual bonus. This US compensation range does not establish the salary applicable to candidates based in Canada.
