Job Description
HYE Manager, Commercial Strategy & Operations
Position Summary
The Manager of Commercial Strategy and Operations turns commercial analysis into clear actions across pricing, allocation, products, channels, and strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Commercial Strategy and Analytics, this role owns the operating cadence that connects data, judgment, technology, and cross-functional execution.
This role is a commercial operator with strong analytical and project-management skills. It uses AI and automation to improve reporting, analysis, monitoring, and follow-through, while partnering with technical specialists handling most system configuration, dashboard development, and data engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy and Optimization
- Own the weekly pricing and allocation operating cadence. Assess booking pace, sell-through, capacity, forecasts, channel mix, and commercial constraints; recommend actions with clear owners and timing.
- Evaluate direct, OTA, pass, group, international, and partner channels using net revenue, margin, demand reach, capacity use, and brand impact. Build scenarios and business cases for pricing, products, promotions, and partnerships.
- Maintain a test-and-learn agenda. Define the hypothesis, success measures, implementation plan, result, and decision that follows each test.
Commercial Operations Systems and AI
- Own the commercial roadmap for ticketing, including pricing rules, allocation logic, products, promotions, automation, and integrations. Translate business needs into clear requirements, prioritize improvements, and quality-check outputs with technical specialists.
- Use AI-enabled tools to streamline recurring workflows, analysis, monitoring, and coordination, and identify potential AI use cases for the team. Design and manage agentic workflows that surface exceptions, draft insights, route actions, and track completion with appropriate human review, partnering with the Data Analytics org, which owns reporting development and the products for AI implementation, reporting, and analytics.
- Coordinate launches across functions, including close communication and coordination with Operations. Confirm that pricing, inventory, terms, system configuration, distribution, and measurement are ready. Use data warehouse and BI outputs to support decisions, and step into analysis, process design, or system execution when needed.
Strategic Projects and Revenue Initiatives
- Lead commercial projects from problem definition through analysis, recommendation, implementation, and impact measurement, including new products, monetization, automation, partner economics, and other revenue initiatives.
- Manage workplans, milestones, decisions, risks, owners, and escalation paths. Evaluate opportunities using customer demand, economics, operational feasibility, investment needs, and expected contribution.
Decision Support and Communication
- Turn analysis into concise recommendations, options, and decision materials for senior leadership, translating analysis into clear commercial actions.
- Draft executive updates and business cases that explain what changed, why it matters, the recommended action, the owner, and how impact will be measured.
- Monitor demand, market conditions, competition, and performance. Identify material changes early and recommend a response.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in revenue management, pricing or yield management, commercial strategy and operations, growth analytics, management/commercially focused consulting, corporate strategy, or e-commerce and marketplace operations.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and commercial judgment. Able to connect demand, pricing, inventory or capacity, channel mix, promotions, and partner economics into clear recommendations and actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and strong project-management discipline. Able to explain complex analysis clearly and coordinate work across teams without direct authority.
- Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities. Able to structure an undefined problem and move work forward without step-by-step direction.
- Practical experience using AI tools for research, analysis, reporting, or workflow automation. Able to identify useful applications, validate outputs, and maintain appropriate human oversight.
- Sufficient systems fluency to work effectively with ticketing platforms, data warehouses, and business-intelligence tools. Able to define business requirements and quality-check outputs.
- Experience in attractions, tourism, entertainment, hospitality, or another capacity-constrained consumer business is helpful but not required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
