Are you organized, detail-oriented, and looking to build a career in construction, engineering, or project management?
Earth Engineering is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Geotechnical Engineering departments. This role works directly with project managers, field technicians, laboratory personnel, contractors, and clients to help keep projects moving from proposal through completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in construction management, civil engineering, or operations who wants to learn the business from the inside. No prior estimating experience is required as we're willing to train the right person.
What You'll Do- Coordinate daily schedules for field technicians.
- Assist with project scheduling and technician dispatch.
- Review construction plans and specifications.
- Learn to prepare project proposals and cost estimates.
- Estimate testing quantities and technician hours under the guidance of senior staff.
- Coordinate laboratory testing and engineering review.
- Communicate with contractors, clients, and project managers regarding scheduling and project status.
- Track project progress and maintain project documentation.
- Assist with proposal preparation and contract administration.
- Help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- CM Students highly encouraged to apply.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents (or willingness to learn).
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience in Construction Materials Testing (CMT), geotechnical engineering, construction, estimating, project coordination, civil engineering, or commercial construction.
- Ability to read construction drawings or interest in learning.
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, Procore, or similar software is a plus.
- Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related education is a plus.
